Hi folks, tonight I watched an EXCELLENT documentary on National Geographic Channel Explorer called Secret history of Gold. The video shows several different things related to Gold but the one that was the most interesting was them watching an illegal hydraulic operation in South America and them using Mercury and mixing like grapes for wine to get the Gold... it was shocking but very interesting to see. I looked for a Youtube link but it's not up there. I did no see it on cable but...

Just a quick note here to let everyone know that we have been online for 3 years now.
We just rebuilt the site and in doing so we are going to be offering anyone from the forum here a free ad for this month.
I usually charge 10 bucks for an ad but we have had some emails coming in asking about additional claims in Canada.
Most of interest is hard rock properties. We had listed a bunch for a fellow in Arizona and they sold quick.

Mining logo design

Well when I registered my company I thought I'd hit 2 birds with one stone.......half the company is under custom built equipment and the other is under mining an exploration so I have my logo for the highbankers and I thought I'd make one up for the mining end of things.......so here it is.....thought it would be good for signs around the claims as well...

Shut down for winter

Was just wondering what folks that have campers and smaller equipment do with it when the season ends.

Do you wrap everything up and leave it on site, or strip the site clean for the winter and bring it all back again in the spring...

Reason I'm asking is because I want to pickup a trailer for a couple of K and since I have no place to store it, I was thinking of wrapping it up and leaving it on site.

Thoughts??

What is with MTO I was submitting my work report for my claim on Lawless and the system just stops working when I was at the last step to submit and pay. Their system has to be one of the worst and it always seems to go down around 10 am when people want to stake forfeited claims it seems, must be server overload or something. You would think that such an important system to mining would be more reliable....

Does anyone else go shopping with their significant other and end up buying little prospecting goodies? I'm brand new to this hobbie and today bought a kittie littler scoop to try as a classifier and a BBQ scrapper with a good metal brush for snipping. Other people must do the same. Then i bought kittie litter and realized that the bucket will be a good size to take to the river and a second one will work as a classifier if I melt some holes in it! I'm doomed!

to any and all intersted, the abbotsford rock and gem club is planning a trip to the McAbee fossil beds on nov 1st, 2009. the beds are about 50 million tears old, you will find an abudance of plant and tree species, with the possibility of finding incects, fish fossils, and even feathers. the only thing i havent found yet is feathers. this is a pay site and the cost for the group is $10 per person. it will be a little cool so dress for the wheather. if intersted pm me for more details and for...
