Hi, To all of you, I will be leaving for Nome the end of May or first of June.. I am bringing a PopnSon 011 clean up sluice as seen on U-Tube..if anybody needs to use it let me kmow. I will be working the east and West Beach..ask for Bradshaw Bob.. I am building a stand for my Le Trap, so far so good. Now the big trick the hopper box...

Looks like a good fix must be getting ready to go give her a try, I think the added spray will help wash everything better.
Just ordered an Angus McKirk like Ernie's should be here next week so I will give my highbanker a rebuild.
Nice lookin yellow rocks will be nice to see more of them this year

The next two frames are modifications I've made to the back (front ?? )end.
Note the drain plug for flushing out the system and the addition of more water slots.

I have changed the spray configuration in the hopper box in that I added the spray bar across the back and added a clean out drain.

Hi, I will be leaving for Nome, Alaska the end of May 2009. I will be also using a Le Trap, my friend Ray was on the beach last year 2008, and did 6 3/4 troy ounces in just 10 weeks, he also used a Le Trap (two of them side by side).. Great pictures of the hopper box..that`s why i came to this site to find a hopper box idea. Any other idea`s out there? I also make the Pop n Son clean up sluice, that they use in Nome. If anybody needs one, i will be bring them to Nome or you can buy one on...

Once you have your pics uploaded to photobucket, there is a photobucket icon right above the box that you write a post or reply in. (Looks like a camera, next to the happy face) Click on it and it will show you pictures from photobucket right above where you are writing. Click on the picture you want to post.

And voila picture posted.

1st -you need to get a photo hosting site I and many others on here use photo bucket .

2nd- up load your pic's to photo bucket.

3rd- check mark the box just below the pic you want to post ,this highlights the pic.

4th- go to the IMG Code left click on those letters.

I saw your question today and thought I would give you my hopper idea for my le trap. I use a Scotts Speedy 1000 lawn spreader hopper. I will try to post some pics of my setup and the precision cut spray bars I made. I use the handle to pull my sluice with and the wheels also. I made some easy adjustible rear legs also. This setup will accommadate a grizzly grille or just a nice flat rectangle platter to run fine concentrates.

Okay, that makes sense now, maybe I'll convert my setup to a wet classification unit too. Do you suggest a wetsuit when operating it that way?

Ron look at pic 1; the hopper is hinged at the front and the wingnut you can see at the bottom (one on each side) allows for setting the hopper slope to what you require.
As far as the water flow, the system builds up a good pressure so it's equal on each side and the spray is equalized. If I turn up the honda then the water will spray all
over the place so I run it at half throdle or so. Pump power is more than required but if you have a bigger lift then the power is...

Hello, I be a newbie to the forum, I like the posts and will ask a question. I have a Letrap sluice in storage at Nome ak.
I'm planning on using it as a hibanker in place of a beach box. Any ideas on a hopper? I thought to just build a regular
wood sluice and hopper and use the Letrap as an insert. But maybe a stand alone or separate hopper would be better, lighter anyway. The hopper sold at Rich's Locator Service seems to be a bit small, has anybody used one of these?...
