Another great book from years back is ....The Silence of the North..... by Olive Fredrickson, a hell of a good read about a woman alone in the wilderness with
her children while her husband chases gold and rainbows.

other movies i know of that were dedicated to his life.  &quot;Alaska, Silence and Solitude&quot; and &quot; Frozen North&quot;, i highly reccomend watching

I recommend his journals as a read. I have a copy of One Man&#39;s Wilderness, an Alaskan odyssey.Published in the 70s that is in my read and then re read
pile. It is his journal that covers the making of his cabin and then living in it for a year. Its great. Very smart man. I have huge respect for his ideals and
