Ryan - When we took him to the vet for shots last week she said he'll probably be about 125 lbs when fully grown. I hope he likes me then as he does now, yikes... I can highly recommend the mix German Shepard/Timber Wolf so far. We'll see when he gets fully grown. Dakota is great around kids, other people, and other dogs. Hope he's still friendly when an adult.

Wayne - Great that you'll be home when we visit the Island again. Looking forward to a cup of coffee and some good chatting. We'll probably leave Dakota in the kennel, as we need to get some rest, h'aaaaa... See ya in a couple of weeks, probably around May 13 or 14...

Looks like a nice pup! how big will he get?
I am thinking of getting a new puppy, good for the kids and for our old dog here. any suggestions on breed or kinda dog? needs to be good with kids

Hi Wayne - found a covered wagon for him to pull, perhaps it will take some of the energy outta him, h'aaaaa. Good idea about the doggy pack, he can carry some prospecting stuff for sure. I'm debating with Dakota who the Alpha is, at times it's me, and at times it's him. He's turning into a great companion, and loves it outdoors.
I'm doing ok, still looking for someone to share the claims with. A couple of the guys in Quesnel said they would be interested, but...

He's sure growing quick and he's still a handsome looking pup. I think with the wolf in him he will never stop challanging you every now and then. But I'm sure he will be your bestest friend ever. Is he okay with strangers? Or is he skiddish?

Just a quick update: Dakota is now close to 14 weeks old and now weighs 40 lbs. The wolf in him gets a little testy at times, but he's a great companion. I am amazed at the energy he has and he wears me out. Very intelligent dog, and loveable when he wants to be. Always still testing though to see who is the boss. I think I'm gaining..

Now if he would just sleep all night I might be able to get some rest...

To all: Thanks for all the kind words about Dakota. He's a great dog, and is now 13 weeks old, and about 33 pounds. Has feet like baseball bats, and fangs too. He's been great so far with the usual pup antics, but is slowly calming down. I have to admit that he's always testing to see who's boss. I think he's winning most of the time. It's amazing how attached one can get to a dog.

We have an addition to the family and wanted to post a couple of photo's. He's a pure bred German Shepard/Timber Wolf, and is a treat. Brought him home at 5 weeks and about 12 lbs. He's now 12 weeks old and 28 lbs, gonna be a big boy. Perhaps keep the bears and other critters away on the claims. Named him 'Dakota'..
