They came from the gold streams of Manson Creek in the north, the rivers of Tulameen country in the south, the banks of the North Saskatchewan in Edmonton
in the east, and from the San Juan River on Vancouver Island to the west to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of Quesnel Forks and our annual campout.
What a gathering is was!!!!! 12 Hibankers operated on 2 days to the tune of Johnny Horton's North to Alaska in contests. 15 young gold panners crowded around panning troughs to look for the speckles in the their pans. Kudos to the many people who made this great event possible, among them the men and women who cooked the great hamburgers over 3 days and held the great steak barbeque and pancake breakfast, many of us would have starved without you!!! the donors of the multitude of prizes, lots of mining equipment, bottles and bottles of gold, ( I think Jim had more bottles of gold in that old cabin than the Canadian mint has, especially since they lost that $20 million) and to Jim our intrepid president and Wendy who brought it all together to make it such a great event. Muchos Gracias!!!!! Brent aka incagold
