I was snooping through MY shop and found this beauty, there is a couple more hangin around. when I fish them out I will show off all the sluices I have built.

All that I am going to show off, I built at work. I have found AU with everyone of them. Here is the 4th one I built long time ago. I am not showing off the first one I built but the rest are all sort of decent.

Sometimes we tend to go high tec when it often is not necessary. Of course i am too old and decrepit to carry the heavy ones also Thanks for the pics! They make a forum way better! Wayne

One of em is made out of 3/4" channel iron 14 inches wide and 3 feet long. It is were it will stay for the rest of its life. Probably sunk a foot into the ground by now.

No pics of my creations - thankfully - but the last one's still stashed in the bush, probably composting.... actually, it worked pretty good with spaghetti mat curled up on the sides & undulating over the wooden riffles underneath.... gotta love a low-tech solution

Posts: 44 (04/16/07 14:22:25) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	hello from the sunny (sometimes ) southern Orygun coast i kinda qualify for this forum cuz my great great garnd daddy was a voyaguer.... this is my Siwash shovel sluice its 8 ft long by 8" wide. it has ribbed mat with 1/8" screen then plaster lath and 12, 3/4" tall riffles. the place i play at (sixes river area Oregon) has very fine gold and platinum 40 mesh or less and it seems to do the job just dandy, cost was less than $30 USD because i had most of the stuff on hand. because of its wood construction a couple of large rocks are needed for its anchor a picture of the fines... /l ,\|____\|, l---L--lllllll- ()_) ()_)----)_) OLD, SLOW, IN THE WAY
