Awsome site here....lots of good reading but nothing here on the Swift other than "Gold Fever" likes to snipe in that area. Would be nice to hear of any old and new findings in that area as ive aquired 3 cells on the river and to the west.I've done alot of prospecting in that area and found what is believed to be a moraine. Is this typical of this area? Tested the top and bottom of it and yes was surprised to find nice flake and flour gold on surface. There isnt very much info on the Swift...that i found anyway.....So any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hey SKIDOO
I just realized you were talkin to me! I am more than willin to share and listen. I love to look at gold, think about gold, dream about gold, talk about gold, touch gold and feel gold, find gold, listen to my gold. I gently massage my gold pan telling it how much fun we are going to have in the spring, how many dirty rocks I am going to drop in er, how many shovels full of gold bearing gravel I will give er. How wet I am going to make er, how dirty she will be! HHMMM am I still talking about gold? HHMMM wet and dirty! Well lets say I got some kind of fever! |

Goldfever ,
so what do you think of the Swift river .....i have a couple claims on the river and was excited about my finds, the pic above was from the river itself and i did some prospecting in the bush and found some nice colour....i know where im going to be camped this year providing work lets me get away. Any finds for you on the river? interested in trompin on my claim? Would help if someone who knew the area and what they are looking at in the terrain. Troy |

Took a drive out close to my claim today to see whats happening. Access still has 2-3 ft of snow on the trail and the pic of the little creek......usually there is no water in the summer. Going to be end of April till i get out.Thats the access behind the hounds.

well that's just a bit gruesome - thanks....
so how dry is that bench - are ya into the water table yet? good luck with that orange layer, hopefully thicker gold waits on the other side.... |

Re: Swift River Area | ||

No problem on the gruesome...well i did get below the orange layer into a soft gravely layer...i'm about 7' down now and yet another layer to go. I'm getting into the bigger rocks and boulders now so maybe thats where shes hiding. No water table yet.

Re: Swift River Area | ||

getting into the bigger stuff bodes well, even if it looks like it would be challenging to get boulders up & out of your pit....
go for the bottom layer - yabadabadoo! |
