Boo, I was able to download the Hixon Creek map and print it out on large size paper. Wouldn't mind blowing it up more but it's readable like it is. I
can send you a soft copy if you'd like, let me know...

Hmmm a detector man .... a hoe man and a couple highbanker men....almost got her made Boo. Now you just need the money man...lmao. You know some of these
American mining outfits charge a decent rate to let people on there claims to work them and even then they take a percetage of what you find....looks like Boo
could do something like a prospecting camp of some sort....of course for free for our fellow small scale prospectors.....

Prospecter 67 ....if you need a place to dig this year your more than welcome to come to the swift river on my claim here in Quesnel. You just have to let me
know where the big nuggets are hiding....w:hat ...with over 60 hectare of property you might just hit something good. There is gold on her but its all fine
stuff but she adds up at $1000 per ounce. The ol leg is doing good these days so I'll be able to get a little more bush wacking done this year....i've
got a couple good potenial prospects on the property that need attention.

Doo - Prospector67
Got a couple of claims to work on Swift River this season. If you hear a lot of hooting and hollering it'll be me after I find that big nugget. Then again some little ones would work also. When is the best time to work the claims with the water somewhat reasonable in the river. Heck, just was thinking. If youse hear a lot of hooting and hollering it may be me running on top of the river, and that BIG MEAN OLE BEAR coming up in the rear...... Monashee |

Oh Monashee don't worry you'll have the wife with her new pick to defend you and the new puppy dog (when you get one).

No problem Prospecter, Probably be a month or so before i can get away from work, not to mention all the snow thats still left out there.
Monashee...what are your plans for working the river? If your going to snipe or just work the gravel bars....i would have to say around June-July the water settles down a bit. Look for those high benches like Goldhound mentioned (unless your going swimming for your gold). I'm above the high water mark so as soon as the snow is gone i'll be able to pick up where i left off last year. |

doo,
Should be home in two weeks if not sooner. Plan on going to the Similkameen on May 3, and see if I can find some gold and platinum. Haven't planned that much as yet for the rest of the season. However, I'm off all summer/fall, and will be doing some long trips to the Cariboo area, and plan on staying out on Swift River for whatever it takes. Your claim is quite interesting and wish you well on finding more of that yellow stuff. Probably see you out there... minkos61, Almost forgot about the new puppy dog. Haven't had one for quite and while and looking forward to having another pardner when the wife can't make it. Wonder if I can teach him how to cook, or maybe open the cooler and bring me a cold one. H'mmm, dogs have a keen sense of smell, I'll have him sniffing out gold before long. Perhaps I'll see you out on the claims... Monashee |
